Brown was named the 2024 NBA Finals MVP after averaging 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game with outstanding defensive play in the NBA Finals.
Brown rebounded strongly from a playoff-low 10 points in Game 4 to lead Boston to a 4-1 victory over Dallas and the team’s record 18th NBA championship. Brown did just that in Game 5, scoring 15 points in the first half to go along with Jayson Tatum’s 16 points as Boston led 67-46 at halftime. The MVP of the Eastern Conference Finals, Brown averaged 20.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5 assists and 1.6 steals per game in the Finals, shooting 44 percent overall.
Brown’s best performance of the series came in Game 3, when he scored 30 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and one cap, joining Tatum as the second pair of Boston Celtics to score at least 30 points each in a Finals game.
Brown won a gold medal at the 2014 FIBA Americas Championship as a member of the U.S. Men’s Basketball U18 National Team. It was also named a five-star recruit, the fourth-best recruit in the 2015 class.
